The Georgian National Tourism Administration wanted to boost tourism following Covid-19 travel restrictions.
Mastercard Tourism Insights uncovered consumers’ behaviors, sentiments and spending habits via anonymized and aggregated payment data. These insights allowed local Georgian hoteliers to better understand how to market to target customers and the Georgian government agencies to plan for tourism recovery with targeted international marketing campaigns and subsidies to stimulate the country’s tourism sector.

Poste Italiane, the Italian postal service provider, has been experiencing a steady decline in revenue in their core business and wanted to transition to offering financial services.

The Kyushu Tourism Promotion Organization (KTPO) of Japan wanted to gain insight into why tourism spend levels were lower in Kyushu than in other areas of Japan.
Mastercard’s analysis found that tourism spend per person in the Kyushu region is only 66% of spend in the Tokyo Metropolitan Area and recommended that in order to drive higher spend, the Kyushu region should incentivize affluent travelers, particularly from Western countries, to visit by enriching experiential activities and enhancing popular attractions.

The Turkish government sought a way to support small-to-medium enterprises by providing loans to recoup spend lost during the Covid-19 pandemic.

After months of studies and analysis on Juazeiro do Norte's main indicators, Bright Cities platform outlined a complete diagnosis of its urban performance and pointed out dozens of smart solutions to transform it into a smart city.
Bright Cities' innovative methodology gave Juazeiro do Norte a better data management, allowing them to work with direction. In the diagnosis, 128 indicators were used to evaluate 10 areas of its urban performance: Governance, Education, Health, Urbanism, Environment, Security, Mobility, Entrepreneurship and Technology and Innovation.

COVID-19 forced many small businesses in Denison to close up shop. But thanks to Venture Forward, GoDaddy’s research initiative on the economic impact of online entrepreneurs who run the 20 million microbusinesses, businesses that had sold mostly to the locals are selling electronically throughout the U.S. and beyond.
Furthermore, thanks in part to a $6,000 e-commerce acceleration grant from the city, Denison small businesses are booming as never before.
As a result of the coronavirus crisis, the City of Austin, began issuing new policies and procedures. City officials urgently needed to understand their residents’ reactions to these laws and whether they were addressing their most pressing needs.
Using Zencity’s platform, city officials dug deeper into the discourse analysis to gauge resident sentiment. The city’s team was able to understand the volume and variations in residents’ concerns regarding people experiencing homelessness during the pandemic. The data illuminated the need to refine their messaging and the city was able to track a significant reactionary decrease in negative sentiment .
